We visited our friends over the weekend. They too are first time parents, so we definitely partied it up!!Woohoo!!

1 month old...

Yesterday was Kahleo's 1 month anniversary..It wouldnt technically be a birthday, so I labeled it an anniversary.

Anyways, We didn't do too much. Grandma Nora came over and we bought some mexican pastries and a Banana Cream pie to celebrate.

I'm scared for the little dude. I know this procedure happens like 1000x a day, but he's my boy so I guess I'm being over-protective.

Kahleo's 1st Bath

Over the weekend we gave Kahleo his first official bath. Before this, we would give him a sponge bath because his umbilical cord was still in place.

At our baby shower we were we lucky enough to receive two baby tubs. Thanks guys!! We had a simple one that had an infant carrier, and another one which had spa like features to it ( bubbles, massagers, jets, etc...no joke!!) We went with the simple one because it had a infant carrier, but I can't wait to use the other.

It was so easy to give Kahleo a bath. The tub had an infant carrier so Kahleo could just lay down in peace as we poured water on him. It's like he was on a hammock that sat right above water. So, first we stripped him, then we rubbed him down with a little baby oil, this is suppose to keep the heat in his body so he wont get too cold, then we laid him down on the carrier, and proceeded with the bath. He felt uncomfortable at first, but ended loving it.

Feeding Frenzy !!!!

Kahleo's feeding frenzy...due to his recent growth spurts, breast feeding is starting to get tough on mommy. He's feasting like a beast! baby kahleo consistently wants to eat every 2-3 hours, and eats more than he's suppose to. This does not fair well with mommy, she cant keep up with the 'lil' dude.

So last night we introduced Kahleo to formula, Nestle Good Start Protect plus, we got a free can from WIC or something, not sure about that. We did our research online about different brands, types of formula, etc. From what I read, it seems that picking the right formula is a "shot in the dark" so to speak. Its really up to how your baby reacts to it. You'd be lucky to strike gold with the first pick. Well we narrowed it down to either Similac, Emilfil, and Good Start. These were also the products available at our local "mothers" (wic). We went with Good Start since we already had a can of it at home we got for free. Plus it was the cheapest out of the three, so it'll work out in the long run.

So, this morning kahleo took a huge dump, not sure if this was normal, but his stuff didn't look weird or green or anything, it was just a lot. We'll keep trying this new formula for now and hopefully stick with it. Maybe we got lucky, we'll have to wait and see.
